Matthew 6:30

“Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?”

Why is doubt so strong? What gives it its strength? Why do we so quickly believe, join in, agree, or lean toward the side of doubt? Take a moment and journey back to the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus, teaching His disciples, gives a strong warning about treasures and how we value them.

The intense directive is given of where to put your trust and confidence, yet we struggle with not just the content, but the intent of what the Master is saying. We lose more ground, momentum, energy, and even synergy by sitting around and going in circles discussing things we have no control over. Not only do we set our progression back, but we lose influence, impact, inspiration, and guidance because doubt creeps into our thought process, spreading infectious thinking among us and our team.

Have you read Job 38 where God speaks out of a whirlwind, telling Job to quit whining and gird up his loins like a man? God says, “I will demand of thee an answer.” God asks him, Where were you when I laid the foundation of the world? Who keeps the constellations in their order? Did you hear the sons of God sing when the stars were spread out? Who keeps the clouds in order and the waters in their shores? On and on, the questions keep coming, and Job can only say UH! And now Jesus, in Matthew 6, reminds His disciples to remember who keeps everything in order.

A mentor of mine recently told me that when there is a true need, God will supply. I have seen that come to pass. Don’t allow doubt to enter the picture. Know where your treasure lies. As sure as God keeps everything in order, He will supply your needs too.
