Conqueror Mode

Romans 8:37

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Millions of people in the world will wake up today feeling whipped, beat, setback, or even destroyed.  The same daily routine will continue by all of us creatures of habit as we shave, get dressed, drive to work the same way, buy coffee, and say hello to the same drive-thru attendant in the same demeanor as the day before.

Most all our conversations will be ones continued from yesterday that we have been entertaining like a soap opera for years.  This kind of behavior has gone on so long until we have become creatures of defeat. The mornings won’t, cant, and will nots are gaining ground in our minds.  Is it any wonder we live a life of defeat?

We are not alone. The Church in Rome was wrestling with the same spirit the world is today. Past failures, catastrophes, and disappointments casted heavy shadows on their future. Paul told them you are more than aconqueror.

In fact, we are living conquerors.  Conquering is not something that happens when we get lucky. It is birthed inside of us through The Word. Conquerors do not have time to entertain the negative “Debbie Downer” at the water fountain, break room table, or back row of the church.  They are busy scaling walls, tearing down strongholds, and obtaining victory.

So, start today different. Wear something different, put-on different cologne, go to work another way, stop to get a different brew, and say good morning to a new face with confidence. Arrive early to chase the promotion and promise you to have been longing for.  Pursue the spouse you don’t want to lose, train your children to conquer and excel. You were birthed for this moment and these duties. Embrace this week’s new sunrise ready to win. Turn on the conqueror mode. Turn off defeat.

Our prayer for you this week: May you learn to live as a conqueror through Jesus Christ.
