2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
Psalms 107:2
The redeemed, those that have wandered, those that only God could gather from the North, South, East and West. Yes, those that hungered and thirsted, even those that have become weak and faint in their journey.
In our religious mental state we dwell in, in our self-righteousness, Christendom seems to have prided itself in how good we are. We think developing a sense of pride declares the glory and goodness of God, leaning as it were on a crutch or cane of flesh flirting with everlasting damnation, caught up in our performance thinking somehow God is getting glory from flesh. Having begun in the spirit, we now walk in the “perfection”, or completeness of our flesh, not realizing God is not fed by our pride, but humility.
No enchanted strain of the Heavenly chorus can compete with the sounds uttered by the Redeemed. There is something about the sound that comes forth from the heart, soul, and mind of an individual that God has restored that the Heavenly choir can’t sound.
There is no match for the praise that comes forth from a man that was lost and has been found. Nothing sounds as good as the first breath of air of one that was drowning. No rejoicing is as exuberant as that of those who watch the blind see, dumb speak, and the deaf hear.
Whether by the miraculous or by modern medicine, no matter how God chooses to allow humanity to receive the miracle of redemption, there is no way we can witness their rejoicing and not be moved. No wonder God gave the redeemed the right to express how they feel, because there is nothing as sweet as being restored.
Our prayer for you this week: May you too join in with all those of us who have been redeemed, giving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ glory for giving us another chance at life.
