Love

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.    2 Timothy 1:7

Tina Turner posed the question, Whats Love Got To Do With It?”   Huey Lewis sent the news about the power of love, while Dolly Parton proclaimed “I will always love you.

Isnt it funny how we have never stopped to consider love is not something we control. Instead, it is a God given gift that gives us control.

Too many times we have heard the pulpit remind the world of all the derogatory adjectives, abominable adverbs, and pessimistic prepositions God is wanting to hand down to us to slap us with a reminder of just how incompetent we are.

Take a moment and answer the titles to these songs. Love is not something I keep. It is something that keeps me, and really, love has everything to do with it, where I am at, what I am doing, what I am becoming, and what I’m walking to.

And, the power of love? Endless impossibilities.  Love will move mountains, traverse valleys, scale cliffs, cross oceans, overcome adversity, reach lower and higher, hang in longer, bring wars to an end, raise the dead, restore the wrecked, replenish the squandered, raise the fallen, and establish the unequipped. Love will finish the journey with you.

So as you start your day, week, journey, whether with your relationship with Christ, business, parenting, or as a newly wed, give some thought to what Christ imparted unto you, something that can change your world, church, family and friends, the Power Of Love.

Our Prayer for you: May you start walking in the power God wants you too, LOVE.
