“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” – Psalm 1:3
WOW! That is all I know to say in response to a man that is living the BLESSED life. We have heard it, and maybe even said it, “Living the best life now.” While that is awesome and true, is that really what we are reaching for, for just the moment?
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful” (Psalm 1:1).
So where should we walk to receive the blessed life? Psalm 37:23 says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.” Oh, to walk in delight, enjoyment, pleasure, happiness, gladness, and amusement. It makes me want to jump up and say, “Hallelujah!”
Look at the results of walking in the ordered steps:
- A tree planted by the rivers of water – Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for they shall be filled.
- Bringeth forth fruit in his season – The “eth” on the end of “bring” means continual, persistent, repeated, recurrent – repeated seasons of fruitfulness.
- His leaf (covering) shall not wither – The only way for leaves not to wither is for the limb to stay alive. The only way for the limb to stay alive is for its root to be alive. The blessed man is connected to the Root and Offspring of the House of David (Revelation 22:16). Who is this? He said, “I JESUS.”
So, the BLESSED man has more than just a BEST life. Now he has a BLESSED life, which is a never-ending covering of GRACE and FRUITFULNESS. Why? Because he is connected to a Never-Dying Root.
Our prayer for you this week: May you step out of the best Life into the BLESSED LIFE.
