Evil

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” Matthew 6:13

Have you ever noticed anything interesting about the word “Evil”?  We commonly use this word to describe someone or something who does not agree with us on an agenda, political opinion, or denominational view. Using this word in the description of others seems to give us the leverage we need to carry on with our objective.

It would seem the modern day definition would even give us the right to have these feelings and use the word to gain momentum in a particular direction.  “Evil” means “profound immorality and wickedness, especially when regarded as a supernatural force.”

I asked at the beginning if you have noticed anything interesting about the word evil. If not look, again.  It is simply “LIVE” spelled backwards. Evil, in short, is backwards living. It is something Jesus said, not a select few, but everyone of us need deliverance from to live in Kingdom authority.

One of the greatest keys you will ever be given in life is right here in this line of this short prayer Jesus prays. We will never reach our destiny, rewards, or higher level traveling in the state of reverse.  To have kingdom authority, one must catch the grand picture of the future looking forward through the windshield. What God has planned for your life will never come to pass while one is looking in the rearview mirror.

So allow God to return your focus to your dreams, plans, and goals. Don’t get caught up as many others talking about your dream. Instead, step out and walk to it.  It is waiting to greet you.

Our prayer for you this week: May you allow Jesus to turn you around, experiencing your dreams, plans, and goals.
