Facing Giants

Joshua 15:14

And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

In establishing the borders of Judah that God gave to them, Caleb went up against the Arba, the father of Anak. Arba is later called Hebron. Arba was considered the greatest of all giants. Notice Caleb not only rid Judah of Arba, but he also drove out Anak and his sons, Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai. Just because Caleb had overcome and driven out the father, or the authority, the greatest of all giants, did not mean he had overcome.

Too often when facing giants in our journey, we become content, pleased, happy, comfortable, and relaxed because we have overcome the biggest elephant in the room. Only later do we become burdened, encumbered, weighted down, and afflicted because we did not follow through with the total victory we should have had.

If we think the enemy we’ve overcome was not in the process of planting seed, we are only deceiving ourselves. If we are not careful, our complacency will cause us to overlook the danger of the offspring of our enemy.  He or she may not be fully grown, but at the end of the day, it is still an elephant—a giant, massive, colossal futuristic problem to deal with—seeing they have the DNA of their father in them.

God has made you a promise, set boundaries for you to dwell in, and allowed you to rule over a territory, business, industry, trade, or production that is yours for the taking. The giants of this world have had control long enough. Exercise your freedom and the authority that God has given you. The right to be a GIANT ERADICATOR doesn’t stop with that authority. Annihilate, overwhelm, defeat, crush, and conquer not only the giant, but his seed too.

Our prayer for you this week: May the Giant Slayer come alive in you.
