The Democratic Party seems to believe that walls are a new idea. However, walls have been around since creation and they all have the same purpose, keep out the undesirables invading their cities and lands with the purpose of making it theirs. There may or may not have been walls surrounding the Garden of Eden but when Adam and Eve sinned they were placed outside of the Garden and cherubim with flaming swords were placed there to keep them from reentering (Gen. 3:24).

If walls don’t work, why is there one around a prison, and if they don’t work, why is there one around the White House? The liberals shout, “Racism!” “Discrimination!” every time they hear of something that sounds like everyone is not being treated equally. Everyone should be treated fairly, but not everyone is treated equally. Jesus said, “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matt. 7:21).

Barriers work, whether you want to call them cherubim, walls, fences, or moats filled with alligators—they work! Let’s face it. We live in a sinful world. The Bible describes lost humanity and says, “Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes” (Rom. 3:16–18).

We need barriers. Does Nancy Pelosi have a lock on her door? Does Chuck Schumer walk down the streets of New York after dark? Did Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and others in high places tell the Secret Service to stay home? Do we need guns with safer bullets? Do we need to disarm the police and the military?

One of the tragedies of liberalism is that liberals mock the Bible and what it says about human depravity. America’s Christian founders well knew what the Bible says about human depravity. That’s why we have a separation of powers. Walls, barriers, fences are, and have been, necessary to keep out those that don’t belong. Those who enter illegally do not respect our laws and will continue to break them once they have entered illegally. Saying no to walls and then locking your doors at night is hypocritical. Liberals equate the Berlin Wall to a wall on our southern border. The difference is the Berlin Wall was built to keep prisoners in, not people wanting to get in.

The Bible mentions walls and gates in many instances. King Asa removed all idols and false religions, “And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the Lord had given him rest. Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the Lord our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered” (1 Chron.14:6–7). Once built, he was able to keep out those that would break the peace. The greatest of all walled cities is described in Revelation 21, the New Jerusalem. It is described as being 1,500 miles on each side and 1,500 miles tall. There is a reason for its walls, as noted in verse 27: “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” The Lamb’s Book of Life contains the names of only those that have met the qualifications for its citizenship, as only those who have legally met the qualifications of citizenship in the United States deserve to be one of its citizens. A person does not become a citizen and then qualify; they must qualify first.

However, the wall that most mirrors the situation today is noted in the Book of Nehemiah. Nehemiah in captivity was the cupbearer to King Artaxerxes I, which entailed protecting the king to make sure he did not drink any poisoned wine or ate any food that would kill him. Nehemiah was proven worthy by his skills in service and had gained much influence from his boss, King Artaxerxes. He heard that the walls of Jerusalem were broken down and he was heartbroken at what he had heard and observed, for he knew that the city would never be rebuilt or safe until he had fulfilled his vision. He explained the deplorable conditions of his city and was given permission from the king to go and rebuild the walls based upon his promise to rebuild and then return. His opposition knew no bounds of deceit and dishonor in an attempt to defeat him in his quest.

Nehemiah traveled to Jerusalem for two reasons: first he wanted to rebuild the walls in order to restore worship and the Law, and then to reestablish the sovereignty of Jerusalem. He made an inspection and found that it was broken down and infiltrated by the enemy. Without the wall he could not keep out the enemy and would have no clear identity. He was commissioned by the king not only to rebuild but also supplied the materials to do so. After surveying the damage and barren places, he assigned men to repair different breached areas. However, he was immediately met by those who made fun of him and jeered him and tried to discourage him into quitting. His enemies were afraid that he would be successful, and they would lose favor in the sight of their friends. The Jews would become strong and independent again. They didn’t want that. The enemies immediately began to attack him even before the work began.

Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach. Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work. But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king? Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem (Neh. 2:17–20).

So, first, they were jackals that attacked by mockery: “But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews” (Neh. 4:1).

Second, conspiracy: “But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it” (4:7).’

Third, extortion: “And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews. For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live” (5:1–2).

Fourth, compromise: “That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief” (6:2).

Fifth, treachery: “Afterward I came unto the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who was shut up; and he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay thee; yea, in the night will they come to slay thee. … Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me” (6:1, 13).

“So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days. And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God” (vs. 15).

In November of 2016, Donald Trump was elected to be president of the United States. He promised to make America great again by restoring the world’s respect for this country that had been lost in the last several presidential cycles. He promised to restore our military strength, economy, trade, and pride in America.

If there was one single plank in his platform that gained the White House, it was his commitment to regain our sovereignty by limiting illegal immigrants entering through a broken border. He said he would build a wall between the United States and Mexico. He has not wavered from his quest to fulfill his promise, but not without much resistance. This resistance has not happened because of no need for a wall, but from hatred for this president and what he stands for.

President Trump is not a politician. He is a very successful business man. He did not come up through the ranks of the political cesspool, but through sweat and blood that most of his resisters know nothing about. He is seen as a sinister threat to the “golden parachute” that has accumulated wealth through years and years of corruption and greed that came from robbing the American taxpayer. He is not a Beltway boy; therefore, the president is an affront to political lifers. President Trump was already wealthy when he took office. He did not become wealthy through his office. His leadership story parallels the story of Nehemiah.

I believe that President Trump is God’s man of the hour in the United States, much as Nehemiah was God’s man in his day. Is he perfect? No more than Nehemiah. They both have had their enemies that have tried to stop the progress of the work of rebuilding.

Nehemiah’s enemies consisted of Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian. President Trump’s enemies are Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and the socialists (both Democrat and Republican). These three are dedicated to removing the president from office because he is not one of them. Their attitude is “don’t confuse me with facts; my mind is made up.”

What is the real contention against a security wall on our southern border? Is it about the money? Is it all about sovereignty? Is it about hatred of President Donald Trump? Is it a combination of the above, or is it something more sinister? President Trump was not raised on the Beltway of good ole’ boys. He is not a schooled politician brainwashed in political science. He is a very complicated individual with a simple message. He is a goal-oriented business man that has a knack for getting things done. His purpose is to regain America’s sovereignty in order to withstand the onslaught of a one-world government. He is pragmatic enough to know that it sometimes takes compromise to complete the desired end result. Therefore, he asks for more than he needs to be able to agree to less. He does not accept failure. He is a patriot, not a nationalist. His antithesis is made up of both Democrats and neo-cons that are evidently sold out to socialism or liberalism, which has no place to go but to global rule.

The leaders of the neo-Democratic Party are now becoming the voice of the call for a socialist America. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are supposed to be the voices of the Democratic Party, but are being out-brayed by the even more liberal new representatives of their party. Nancy and Chuck are just kidding themselves if they think they are in charge. There are now at least a dozen liberal wannabe’s in the race to become the next president and to see just how far they can take America down the drain—none of whom think a wall is necessary.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is the acting spokesperson for the Democratic Party, replacing Nancy Pelosi. AOC, as she is known, gets much more press time than the Speaker of the House. She is the perfect specimen of the animal that represents the Democratic Party. Maybe she is a reincarnation of the one that spoke to Balaam in Numbers 22:28 … only not as smart.

Nancy Pelosi, on the other hand, is a trove of wisdom. On CSpan2 she states that Rep. Ilhan Omar, representing Minnesota, is not anti-Semitic. “She has a different experience in the use of words.” Incoherency seems to be the common denominator of the thinking of the Democratic Party. Omar is a refugee from Somalia and sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. She is an extreme Muslim with anti-Semitic roots and declaims U.S. foreign policy. She now helps to define Democratic policy. Have the Democrats ever seen the need for a wall? In a word, yes! There are at present 500 Somalis in the United States illegally with protected status (U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security).

White House Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney made an apples-to-oranges comparison when he said he couldn’t understand why Democrats opposed supplemental funding for a border wall since many of them were for it back in 2006.

“We don’t understand why the Democrats are so wholeheartedly against it,” Mulvaney said. “They voted for it in 2006, then-Senator Obama voted for it. Senator Schumer voted for it, Senator Clinton voted for it. So, I don’t understand why Democrats are now playing politics just because Donald Trump is in office” (www.politifact.com).

President Trump has issued a “National Emergency” concerning the border with Mexico. Is there proof of this claim that substantiates this proclamation.

Of the 61,529 criminal cases initiated by federal prosecutors last fiscal year, more than 40%—or 24,746—were filed in court districts neighboring the Mexican border. This includes Arizona, New Mexico, Southern California, Western Texas, and Southern Texas. The two Texas districts each had more than double the convictions of all four federal court districts in the state of New York combined, according to the DOJ report. The Western Texas District had the nation’s heaviest crime flow, with 6,341 cases filed by the feds. In Southern Texas 6,130 cases were filed, 4,848 in Southern California, 3,889 in New Mexico and 3,538 in Arizona (www.judicialwatch.com).

The United States Border Patrol reported that 396,579 illegals were apprehended in 2018 at the southwest border of the United States.

In fact, it’s inhumane. How can we describe the human trafficking racket that transports so many of these people here, including many thousands involved in the sex trade or forced into servitude for the cartels, as anything other than a modern slave trade?

And it comes with all of the violence and degradation you would expect. For example, a 2017 report by Doctors Without Borders says that “1 in 3 women are sexually assaulted on the dangerous trek up through Mexico.” And in 2016 over 20,000 children crossed the border alone and were apprehended by ICE. For what purpose are children being sent without their parents across the desert in the custody of gangsters? There is no good answer. The solution is to stop enticing people north with hopes of off-the-books jobs, fake IDs, access to American welfare programs, and a potential future amnesty (www.amgreatness.com).

Although many other countries have built walls to keep out illegal immigrants, only the United States and Israel are condemned.

Other countries besides the United States and Israel that have built walls include Morocco, South Africa, Brunei, China, India, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, Austria, Greece, Hungary, and others are considering building walls to keep out aliens. The question is, “Why would anyone want to enter most of these countries—legally or illegally?”

Walls and fences define ownership. The ownership of the United States is owned by Americans, not illegal trespassers be they from Mexico, Central or South America, and other places around the world. If America is so terrible as the Democrats maintain, then why are so many trying to sneak in? But, what are the immigration policies from other countries?

Italy has one of the worst problems with immigrants and one of the harshest laws. “One of the harshest, passed by parliament in 2009, penalizes illegal immigrants with a fine of €5,000–10,000 and allows immigration officials to detain them for up to 6 months.” Speaking of illegal immigrants, “The free ride is over,” new Interior Minister Matteo Salvini warned at a rally in northern Italy adding: “It’s time to pack your bags.”

Other E.U. countries are considering similar laws.

Switzerland’s uneasy relationship with its Muslim immigrant population became very public in recent years thanks to the rise of the far-right Swiss People’s Party (SVP) and the referendum that resulted in a ban on mosque minarets in 2009. The law would allow the Swiss government to immediately deport all convicted criminals from other countries and—depending on which specific provisions of the bill pass—potentially their family members.

The most infamous of Tokyo’s new anti-immigration policies is the “Nikkei” Law. Passed in spring 2009, the law allows the Japanese government to pay $3,000 to each unemployed Latin American immigrant of Japanese descent (known as Nikkei in Japanese) and $2,000 to each of that unemployed worker’s family members to return to their country of origin. The catch? These workers and their family members would be prohibited from ever returning to work in Japan. An estimated 366,000 Brazilians and Peruvians lived in Japan at the time.

Even Muslim countries are fed up with immigrants who attempt to rewrite their host’s laws. 83.5 percent of total population of the United Arab Emirates are immigrants.

One of the toughest provisions in Emirati immigration law is the prohibition of foreigners from engaging in any sort of labor union-like activity. As a result, living conditions are often harsh, including 80-hour work weeks, back-breaking manual labor, and below-minimum-wage pay. It’s not atypical for immigrants to live in “tiny prefabricated huts, 12 men to a room, forced to wash themselves in filthy brown water and cook in kitchens next to overflowing toilets” (www.foreingpolicy.com)

Surely, things are better back home!

FINALLY: We need a wall to help prevent the following: Even though native-born Americans far outnumber non-citizens, the latter group funnels much more money from the federal government for welfare services.

“Compared to native households, non-citizen households have much higher use of food programs (45 percent vs. 21 percent for natives) and Medicaid (50 percent vs. 23 percent for natives),” CIS’s Steven A. Camarota and Karen Zeigler informed from the data. “Including the EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit), 31 percent of non-citizen-headed households receive cash welfare—compared to 19 percent of native households …” (www.gopusa.com).

What is the difference between a socialist and a liberal? “A socialist believes in the principles of socialism, while a liberal believes in the principles of progress. Socialism is the belief that the economy should be planned, while liberalism believes that entitlements to the poor and things like education should be rights” (www.quora.com). In other words socialism would do away with private ownership, and all property and means of production becomes state owned (sounds a lot like communism). If you are neither capitalist nor communist, what are you? A Democrat? Either build a wall to define the U.S.A. or America will become the “Union of American Socialist Republics.” Sound familiar? Not a Sovereign Republic of the United States of America!

Just remember: Heaven has walls, gates, and a strict immigration policy. Hell has open borders.
