But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10
How long has it been since you have taken time to do an inventory check? Not of the things you have acquired in life, nor what is on the shelves of the business you own, church you pastor, or position you fill, but of the who, what, and how that helped you land where you are at.
It has always amazed me how many folk lose sight of how they arrived where they are at. It has been said if a turtle is on a fence post, you can bet he did not get there alone. We have all heard it said, “He or she is self-made.” How ludicrous! Winners are not self-made. They are trained, developed, prepped, and prepared for the task at hand.
Paul declared it is “by the grace of God I am what I am.” Then Jesus said in John 12:23-27, the hour He was brought into the world for would take more than His flesh. He would need the spirit of the Father to help Him conquer the cause of the hour.
No husband, wife, or child makes the family. Each one enriches the experience. No CEO, CFO, VP, or Lead has arrived without the team. No Pastor, Priest, nor Preacher leads without a flock. Coaches never win a championship without the athletes.
So today, take off what John Conlee sang about, those rose colored glasses that “Show only the beauty ‘Cause they hide all the truth.” Take time to stop and thank God, your family, friends, and team for helping you to become what you are.
Our prayer for you this week: May you learn to appreciate the Grace of God and others that have helped you become what you are and attain what you have.
