Weapons of Warfare

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds

2 Corinthians 10:4

When a soldier joins the military, he is assigned a weapon or weapons to use in warfare. He or she is thoroughly trained in everything from safety to the cleaning of the weapon. This rigorous training is so important. It literally establishes a new nature in you.

Everything from preparation for battle to accuracy in using your weapon is ingrained in your new nature that becomes a natural response when you are in the heat of the battle. The ability to lean on and recall what you have been taught in your training aids in bringing you back safely from the battle.

Training is so important that scripture tells us to, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

Your training will kick in when the battle rages. When life is at its lowest is when the basics that have been imparted to you will take over and bring you through.

Paul declared our weapons of warfare are not carnal. What is your weapon of warfare in the spirit? Life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). The fruitful part of your spiritual body is the tongue. You have been given the power to bind, lose, impart, declare and change circumstances simply by speaking the Word. When you learn the proper use of your weapon, you can wreak more havoc on the devil than a fly at a picnic.

Our prayer for you this week: May you learn your weapon was not given to you for carnality, but to pull down strongholds, cast down imagination, and everything that exalteth itself against God. Use it wisely.
