Is It Part of One-World “Conditioning”?
Technological breakthroughs march the world toward the biblical end-times scenario with each passing day. What was once inconceivable just 100 years ago is now possible. Students of the prophetic Scriptures struggled to envision a literal fulfillment of certain scriptures that are now literally possible. For example, Revelation 11:9–10 speaks about the world seeing the dead bodies of the two witnesses. It would be hard to understand this scripture literally until after the now decades-old technological breakthroughs like broadcast television and the internet.
As time rolls on, new technological breakthroughs give a greater understanding of how the prophetic Scriptures could be literally fulfilled. The one-world economy mentioned in Revelation 13:16–18 is a case in point. Until recent years, a one-world economy seemed like a logistical nightmare—a practical impossibility.
How could financial markets and banks be connected seamlessly around the world without chaos erupting? How could financial institutions prevent fraud and identity theft without constant communication? What currency would the world adopt as the global currency—would the U.S. dollar, the European euro, or the British pound rise to the top? How could countries get people to give up their currency for the new global standard?
The Launch of Worldcoin
Technology is once again answering these questions and changing what once seemed impossible into reality. Digital currencies and cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin have been around for a few years but a new player joined this field in 2023 and is quickly gaining ground around the world. Worldcoin launched in July and just released World ID 2.0 in December.
What is Worldcoin? According to their website, Worldcoin seeks “to be the world’s largest identity and financial public network.” At its core, Worldcoin is a digital currency designed to give everyone access to the global economy. What is World ID 2.0? It adds facial recognition software to Worldcoin to help verify a person’s identity.
How does it work? First, users must download the World App. Once users have this mobile app, they can set up their account and access a digital wallet that works with Worldcoin and other digital currencies like Bitcoin.
To unlock access to more features and be eligible to get free Worldcoin tokens, the user must move on to Step 2—sign up for a World ID. How does the sign-up process work? According to the website, “a person must sign up for World ID by visiting a Worldcoin Operator and verifying their unique personhood at an Orb.”
What is an Orb? This is where the story goes to a whole new level. According to their website, “The Orb uses iris biometrics to establish an individual’s unique personhood.” Further, they say, “The Orb is an imaging device that verifies you are a real and unique person who has not previously received a World ID. It is necessary because it is the only secure way of reliably determining uniqueness and personhood while also preserving privacy.”
How does the Orb accomplish this? It is a small, round unit that scans the iris of users’ eyes to create a unique biometric ID. Worldcoin chose this method of identification because everyone’s eyes are unique, making it extremely difficult to steal another’s identity or create fake accounts.
Increased safety, decreased fraud, decreased identity theft—all these are promises of this emerging biometric technology that seeks to transform the global economy as it helps the world move to a cashless society.
Worldcoin is rapidly gaining users across the world. Millions across the world have already registered their iris scan with the Orb. It claims to be adding app users at a pace of about a million people per month.
Operations were recently expanded to four Orb operator locations across Singapore. In Europe, the Orb can be found in multiple locations in Spain and Germany. In South America, Orbs can be found in Chile and Argentina. One Argentinian city had more than 10,000 people register their iris scan with the Orb in a single day.
But the news is not all good for Worldcoin as the new technology experienced problems along the way. Operations shut down in India, Brazil, and France after a few short months.
In Kenya, legislators revolted against the technology, claiming the iris scans could be a front for espionage. They further claimed that the offers of free currency to all who register could amount to inducement. A Kenyan government committee called for their nation to blacklist the website and authorized the police to investigate Worldcoin and its parent company, Tools for Humanity, according to reports from Reuters.
Global Conditioning
Technology is rapidly changing the world, making a one-world economy possible like never before. Revelation 13:16-18 reveals that the Antichrist will unite the world under a global financial system during the Great Tribulation. No one will make any financial transaction without the infamous mark of the beast.
The world is being conditioned to receive the mark of the beast through emerging financial technologies like Worldcoin that make biometric scans necessary to access digital currency. At present, most people do not associate biometric scans with banking. That is rapidly changing. Many financial institutions are encouraging, if not requiring, their customers to register their facial recognition scans on the financial institution’s mobile app. The future security of digital financial accounts relies heavily on the biometric data of its users. The more people get accustomed to this way of thinking, the easier it will be to usher in a global digital currency.
If this seems farfetched, look at how people are reacting to Worldcoin. Around the world, people jumped in line by the thousands when they heard about the offer of free currency or other free merchandise just for having their iris scanned. Undoubtedly, the Antichrist and his cronies will take advantage of this kind of conditioning to promise the world a bright future filled with access to lots of cool new stuff. The possibilities will appear endless for the global financial market. However, as the old truism states, there is no such thing as a free lunch.
Why is Worldcoin willing to give free digital currency tokens to people who register their iris scans? Because they know the data they are collecting is worth a lot of money. This is not an insinuation that Worldcoin is seeking to sell this biometric data nor that they are using it for nefarious purposes. Rather, Worldcoin knows it can create a database of loyal customers around the world who will use their digital currency when other financial companies try to jump into this market. Why would anyone want to go through another iris scan procedure to sign up for another institution’s digital currency? Worldcoin is setting itself up to be the go-to digital currency provider, as stated in its goal “to be the world’s largest identity and financial public network.”
Please note: Worldcoin is not the mark of the beast. However, it certainly appears to be another step toward a one-world cashless economy that will be a cornerstone of the Great Tribulation. This world is being conditioned to receive the mark of the beast with each passing day.
Stand Strong
How should concerned Christians respond to these developments? Daniel provides a powerful example of remaining faithful to God in the face of peer pressure. Daniel was not merely being conditioned by Babylon. They were trying to brainwash him and change everything about him.
Under King Nebuchadnezzar, the kingdom of Babylon conquered Judah and brought young men with potential into a leadership training program. They were expected to eat the Babylonian food, drink the Babylonian drink, speak the Babylonian language, and identify as Babylonians. Ultimately, this was a spiritual battle because the Babylonians wanted Daniel to forget his God and give total allegiance to their worldview and worship.
The Scripture reveals, “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself” (Dan. 1:8).
This is the open secret to remaining faithful to God amidst pressure to conform. First, Daniel determined that he would not turn his back on God, no matter what happened to him as a result of his stand. Even though he was most likely still a teenager, he stood strong in his faith in the one true God. Secondly, Daniel showed respect to those in authority over him as he treated them politely. He stood firmly but also graciously. Displaying strength does not require brutality. In the end, his strong stand was vindicated and his faith in God was rewarded publicly (Dan. 1:9–21).
May God give His followers discernment to stand strong amid a rapidly changing world. This involves learning to ask the right questions when groundbreaking technology emerges. Proceed with open eyes and discerning minds through the promises of earth-shattering technological breakthroughs. Properly use technology but do not let it lead you astray. Understand how the mindset of the biblical end-times is emerging and live with eternity in view.
